Making Sustainable Building Easier
At Studholme Rise we are committed to enabling you to follow your instinct and create a healthy home that future generations will thank you for.
If your new home achieves a Homestar 7 or above rating Studholme Rise will reward you for being part of the change towards better housing in New Zealand.
Homestar – What is it?
Homestar is an independent rating tool for assessing the health, efficiency and sustainability of homes. It uses a 10-star rating system and the more stars a home has, the lower its running costs and environmental impacts.
What are the benefits
A Homestar home is one that is designed, built and operated in ways that reduce or remove negative impacts on the environment and the people living in it.
Running costs for an energy efficient home are less than those of a standard home. So, by investing more up-front, you will enjoy both financial and health benefits well into the future.
Some mortgage lenders reward customers who choose to build a home to a Homestar rating of 6 or higher. For example, ANZ’s Healthy Home Loan Package offers a discount of up to 1.00% p.a. on your interest rate.
There is also the likelihood that a Homestar-certified home will have a higher resale price. Trends from Australia and elsewhere on high performance homes indicate an increase in value of more than 10%.
Our commitment
To encourage the building of sustainable and energy efficient homes, following settlement, you can apply in writing to us for cash contributions towards the costs of achieving a design and/or built rating of Homestar 7 (version 5) or higher for your new home. The following contributions will apply:
- Design Rating Contribution of $2,000
- Homestar 7 Built Contribution of $20,000
- Homestar 8 Built Contribution of $30,000
Full details of these contributions are contained in the Sales and Purchase Agreement.
